What is video conferencing?

So, what’s required for video conferencing? At a baseline, you need a computer, laptop, smartphone, or other advanced device with a webcam, microphone, and speaker function. Modern computers and smart devices have this technology built in.
From there, you need internet access, and your team needs to install or download video conferencing software or an app to be able to communicate with each other.

Key features of video conferencing software
To ensure a successful video conference, you want specific features to meet your needs when working with global teammates.
Features of video conferencing tools should include the following capabilities:
- Record meetings to share with participants and for future reference.
- Chat function to connect with colleagues before, during, and after a conferencing session.
- Screen sharing to highlight demonstrations and help attendees follow along with your presentation.
- Add captions for further clarity, inclusivity, and accessibility for all attendees.
- Choose a background or upload your own to minimize distractions.
- A reactions button to quickly engage with the content or discussion without interrupting the call.
- View and download the attendee list to reference and follow up with participants, post-session.
Video conferencing tools should also enable participants to opt-in to be on camera or use a microphone.
Ideally, this type of software will help you with your presentation skills, too—after all, these skills are more important than ever in a hybrid work environment. Microsoft Teams has a function called speaker coach that helps presenters speak more confidently in meetings by providing guidance and feedback on pacing, use of filler words, and reminders to check in with the audience.

Microsoft Teams FAQ’s :
The word “webinar” is a combination of “seminar” and “web,” and it could be a presentation, a lecture, a workshop, or another event hosted online. Webinars and virtual events platforms are used to build engagement and relationships; enable hybrid work; empower communication and collaboration with employees working remotely and in different locations; and inform, demonstrate, and teach.
Ordinary meetings generally include a lot of back and forth among the participants—having discussions, sharing, assigning and accepting tasks, making plans, and working toward consensus.
Webinars, on the other hand, are more controlled, and the participants have clearer roles. One or more experts (the presenters) share their ideas or provide training to an audience (the attendees or participants).
Anyone who can schedule a Teams meeting can schedule a webinar. If you’re unable to schedule one, check with your IT admin.
Anyone can register, but your IT admin can restrict registration to people in your organization. You may also choose to restrict registration when you schedule the webinar.
After your webinar, create customer journeys and send personalized follow-up emails to your attendees using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing.
Webinars in Office 365 and Microsoft 365 subscriptions add basic webinar functionality to Microsoft Teams Enterprise, such as registration for up to 1,000 attendees, a co-organizer role, interactivity with Q&A, attendee reporting, and Dynamics 365 Marketing options. Advanced webinars in Teams Premium include all of the basic webinar functionality but with new host controls and event management controls that help you seamlessly connect with any audience. Some of these advanced features include automated reminder emails, a registration waitlist and manual approval, a virtual green room, and the ability to manage what attendees see on screen.
